Eh, I’m sorry, maybe it’s because I’m a bit older — I was never all that blown away by his music. (There is WAY better funk music out there, people, just dig a little. Somebody please tell me what MJ’s message was. That he was “bad?” That he didn’t father a fan’s child? That a rat was his best friend?)

If you aren’t blinded by the relentless glitz of his superstardom, his pedophilia is pretty obvious. (I held that opinion long before the documentary.) Why he’s held above true geniuses like Curtis Mayfield, Betty Davis and Marvin Gaye will always be a mystery to me. To me the MJ phenomenon is just another symptom of the American sickness.
